This varnish cracks on a lot of things: e.g. on the upper layer of paint for an antique crackled look.
Give your objects an antique look
using the crackle medium or the crackle painting technique!
Select two acrylic paints that together form a visible contrast.
First, paint the surface with the first paint. If the surface is already painted with an acrylic paint, you can skip this step. Let the surface dry well out. The surface colour will only be visible in the crackled areas at the end.
In the second step, spread the crackle varnish evenly on the surface. Allow the varnish to dry.
Finally, spread the second paint evenly over the dry varnish. The second paint crackles when drying and the first paint becomes visible in some spots – as if the object has aged.
The paint applied on the upper layer should not be a metallic one, as this usually does not crackle.
