Viennese wickerwork – the perfect material for craft fans who like to craft with natural materials. Braiding is not only suitable for making furniture, but also for creating trendy handicraft decorations.
Viennese wicker, natural, unpainted, roll 35 x 60 cm
Rattan is a fibre obtained from the leaves of the Rattan palm. It grows quickly and it is a renewable and sustainable resource, making it eco-friendly.
Viennese wicker is made using the special art of honeycomb braiding and is suitable for creating special decorative effects and trendy DIY decorations, e.g to adorn the framework of small frames, storage boxes, plant pots, trays and much more besides.
You can work with this material in its dry state or smooth it out quickly with a steam iron to make the braid, which is naturally rolled up, flat. But you can also leave it to soak in water for around 20 minutes, drain it to give it desired shape and lie it down flat.
Viennese wicker is easy to cut and glue, and thanks to its woven structure, it can also be embroidered.
